Are these Keto?
Our Protein Shake Blends are Keto-Friendly. Each serving contains 25g of Protein and less than 5g of Net Carbs, these are perfect for anyone on a keto diet, as well as people just looking to reduce their carbs.
What’s up with the nuts and seeds in the protein powder?
You will find walnuts, pumpkin seeds and other recognizable ingredients inside every scoop. Folk Revival Protein Shake Blends are food, and our recipes include ingredients you can see and taste. Of course, they blend right up in your mixer, or are satisfying to bite into when you get to the bottom of your cup.
How do these Folk Revival shakes taste?
We might be biased, but we think these are some of the best plant based shakes available today. We spent years working on them. They deliver a rich chocolate or vanilla base which pairs perfectly with the nutty recipe. A lot of other brands add the kitchen sink to their formulas. You can find shakes with mushrooms, multi vitamins and all sorts of stuff in them. These ‘may’ be good for you, but they certainly don’t taste good. And if your shake doesn’t taste great- you’re not going to stick with it. Our recipes are super clean. Clean ingredients=Clean Taste!
Why is it called Folk Revival?
We are focused on delivering real functional nutrition for People, by Reviving heirloom and heritage foods. Real nutrition from food. How novel!
Can Folk Revival help me lose weight?
Folk Revival, along with a healthy diet and exercise, is a great, convenient, calorie-controlled option. It will keep you satisfied for hours and is made with real recognizable ingredients. Whether you choose Folk Revival Shakes or Oatmeal, you are getting a nutrient dense, protein packed plant-based meal unlike any other.
What do you recommend I add to my shake?
Folk Revival is tasty on its own, but Bananas, Berries, or your favorite fruit are great additions too. We also enjoy stirring in coconut shreds, almond or peanut butter, or our favorite granola. A sprinkle of your favorite sweetener can be a nice addition too.
Do you have any recipe ideas?
Yes, we will email you a recipe e-book which is packed with some tasty recipes for everyone.
How do you make acorn flour?
It’s a fairly laborious but rewarding process. Very simply, acorns are harvested when they fall, they are cracked open to reveal the nut, the nuts are ground into flour, the flour is then washed for an extended period of time to remove the bitterness, then it is dried and packed.
Why don’t you use pea protein?
First of all…Yuck. We just can’t find a pea protein that has the quality and taste we require. Our proprietary recipe of hemp, flax, fava and chia protein provides all essential amino acids and an amazing flavor.
Why don’t you use stevia?
Some people just can’t tolerate stevia. We use a tiny bit of monk fruit instead in our Shakes and ‘Oatmeal’. They’re very lightly sweetened.
What’s up with the acorns?
We are so excited to introduce acorns to your diet. Acorns have been eaten around the world for ages and are still consumed in pockets today, including by indigenous communities in the US. They have incredible health and ecological benefits, and we’re delighted to incorporate them into our Folk Revival recipes.
